Hibiscus Tiliaceus, Family Malvaceae, Hawaiian name is "Hau"
This is indigenous to Hawaii, and it's wood is use to make cords, for basket, for sewing and to tie sandals onto feet, making fires and other important things. Ancient Hawai'i used it to make canoe outriggers.
